My Plan for Missouri

The Porter Plan for Missouri’s Conservative Renaissance

I have a conservative vision for all Missourians. One that requires real leadership. I am not in this race to ensure I have a job next year. I am running to ensure Missourians have stable jobs, extending well beyond my time in office. With a strong workforce, business-friendly tax and regulatory structure, safe communities, and a leading agriculture industry, Missourians will be on a path to prosperity.

Business Attraction / Retention

We will create an ecosystem that attracts, retains, and nurtures businesses by implementing pro-growth tax policies, removing burdensome regulations, and creating a robust workforce. Florida and Texas have successfully recruited businesses and industries with low taxes, safe communities, business-friendly rules and regulations, and strong schools. With two major metropolitan cities, a robust agriculture industry, three military bases, two major inland waterways and 16 public ports, top-notch universities, and a plethora of post-secondary training and job opportunities, we have the foundation to be an economic hub too.

Public Safety

We will support our law enforcement officers and ensure they have the tools, resources, and personnel necessary to keep our families, communities, and themselves safe. We will ensure prosecutors are enforcing the laws and remove any prosecutors refusing to prosecute criminals making our communities less safe.

Tourism

Tourism is, and should be, a major revenue source for our state. With family-friendly destinations such as Branson and Springfield, multiple convention centers, seven professional sports teams, six division 1 universities, an expansive public park system, the largest aquarium in the country, and the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri has the ingredients to be a popular destination for both business and leisure travelers. A perfect example of our capacity to be a successful tourist destination is the 2018 PGA Championship, hosted at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis. The attendance, player reactions, and media coverage all reflected a passionate fanbase and a city that is well-suited to host major sporting events. Missouri needs a leader in the Lt. Governor’s office who will continue to seek out opportunities to promote and grow the Missouri economy through tourism. Increased Tourism is good for every business and every Missourian.

Agriculture

We must leverage our strength in agriculture. The importance of corn growers, soybean farmers, and our cattlemen in Missouri can not be overstated. Our farmers are powering the future of next generation energy that can be produced right here in Missouri. In our quest to make our nation energy independent, let’s work with our farmers so they can do their part to achieve that goal.
